The Physician Assistant National Recertifying Exam or PANRE is the official recertifying examination offered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for individuals who:
Individuals must register via the NCCPA web site, which requires a registration fee, for a 180 day block of time to schedule their exam. Scheduling of an actual test date must be done through a testing center (www.pearsonvue.com/nccPA). The PANRE may only be taken once within a 90 day period; up to twice in the fifth year and twice in the sixth year.
The NCCPA have developed a self assessment exam that consists of 120 similar PANRE questions. The exam is available online only and may be purchased at the time of registration.
